US Budget Priorities 2013

Check out the newly updated version of our computer activity on U.S. budget priorities. Many LPF leaders are convinced that the struggle over funding of military forces vs. programs that benefit “the least of these” is a crucial issue for us to push our elected officials to make a top priority and take leadership on this summer.
LPF’s Budget Priorities activity is interactive, easy to use, and engaging; ideal to recommend for your congregation or group. It has received enthusiastic reviews from several hundred adult forums, conferences and events across the nation.(Together, our computer activities have been used by a million people – which gives a sense of how effective and inspiring groups find them to be.)

World Refugee Day 2013
Now when they had departed, behold,( an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, "Rise, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you, for Herod is about to search for the child, to destroy him." And he rose and took the child and his mother by night and departed to Egypt and remained there until the death of Herod. (Matthew 2:13-15)

World Refugee Day
, observed June 20 each year, is dedicated to raising awareness of the situation of refugees throughout the world. World Refugee Day in 2013 looks specifically at the impact of war on families. The core message in 2013 is “1 family torn apart by war is too many”.
